About Learning Conductor
Learning Conductor, a suite of online tools for standards-based mathematics,
provides Ohio students with a new way to learn. From middle school through
community college and workforce retraining, students and teachers can use this
software to improve their understanding of mathematical concepts, to prepare for
standardized tests, or to refresh their math skills. Find out more about how you
can use Learning Conductor.
Learning Conductor Individual Lessons
Working with an advisory board of Ohio mathematics educators, Learning Conductor
lessons are written to meet the Ohio Standards in algebra, geometry, and number sense.
Each lesson includes an overview, text with optional narration, interactive tools,
embedded assessments, and questions leading to deeper understanding. Lessons, linked
to each appropriate standard, may appear more than once in the list.
To use the free individual lessons, you must be an Ohio
resident, 18 years of age or older, and meet the system requirements (including a
Windows computer with Internet Explorer, Shockwave, and Java 1.4.2 or higher available
as a free download). Choose an
individual lesson and see for
yourself.
Learning Conductor Mathematics Package
The complete Learning Conductor package is also available free to Ohio educators.
The package includes a grade book, electronic "sticky notes" to communicate with
students, a question library with hundreds of homework questions, a tool to create
additional homework questions or to modify homework questions, and statistics about
student performance.
Teachers who have worked with the Learning Conductor package say it is
"well-designed and user friendly," "provides learning for all modalities, giving the
feeling of hands-on participation," and is "interesting and attractive, thanks to its
interactive graphics."
